Sad Day for Los Angeles Radio

Today on my drive into work I tuned into my favorite talk station, 97.1 Free FM and they were playing Britney Spears and they played the whole song. Sometimes the Frosty, Heidi and Frank show does play a song or two so I didn’t think anything of it. After the song was over there was a recorded thing saying it was a Top 40 station.

WHAT? Los Angeles doesn’t need another Top 40 station. A couple of months ago, my favorite Independent Station, Indie 103.1, was changed to a Top 40 station. The reason I loved that station is because they didn’t play everything the other stations were playing. They played artists that weren’t in the mainstream.

It is bad enough that one of the Top 40 stations plays the same rock songs as the famous rock station, KROQ.

Los Angeles DOES NOT NEED ANOTHER TOP 40 STATION!! All of the stations are playing the same thing. The talk radio station was entertaining, made those of that listened laugh. The hosts of all the programs talked about real life things and news. Now there is none of that.

Just wait and see, us ‘old people’ (those of us between 25-45) as they call us, will be switching to Satellite or just listening to our iPods in our cars.
